About tinyhaiku

tinyhaiku is an app for writing haiku, designed to be beautiful, minimal, and easy to use.

You can choose different backgrounds that develop as you write. Each is shaped by your words and unique to your poem. You can also write on a plain background.

The app offers subtle guidance to help you structure your haiku, without telling you what to write. The words and ideas are entirely yours.

We suggest starting with Notes. Use it while you’re out and about to record things you find beautiful or interesting: observations, words, or images. Come back when you have time and use the writing tool to turn your notes into a haiku.

Save your poems in your personal library. To share one, use Mint to save it as a unique image with its background, then send it to someone you care about.

Your poems are saved only in your browser on your device. Writing and saving a poem never sends it to us or stores it on a server. Your phone and desktop computer have separate libraries with different poems; they don’t sync. Different browsers have separate libraries too. Poems only leave your device if you choose to share them or submit them for publication.

tinyhaiku is built by Ryan Law, who writes haiku in his spare time, often while hiking in the Chiltern Hills in the UK.
